After arrival you will picked by our driver for an overnight stay at Jamia Central Hotel or similar in Nairobi
Depart Nairobi in the morning for Samburu National Reserve crossing the Equator and driving through changing terrain to the rugged semi-desert region in the northern Kenya. Though harsh, it is blessed with species rarely found elsewhere. Arrive in time for lunch at lodge. Afternoon game drives to search for the stars of Samburu. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Riverside Tented Camp or Similar.
Samburu National Reserve is one of the lesser-known national parks, but is nevertheless teeming with life. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains.
The reserve is rich in wildlife with an abundance of rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the beisa oryx (also referred to as Samburu Special Five).
The reserve is also home to elephants and huge numbers of large predators such as the lion, leopard and cheetah. Kamunyak the miracle lioness that adopted the baby oryx was as a resident in the reserve. Wild dog sightings are also a common attraction to this unique protected area. Birdlife is abundant with over 450 species recorded
Spend the three full days in Samburu with game drives .Search for the rare liver red reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Blue flanked Somali Ostrich, Vulturine Guinea Fowl, Longneck Gerenuk. See braving plenty of Big Cats on the grass, Cheetah, Leopards among plenty of other plains game. (Optional visits to Samburu villages). All meals, and overnight at the camp.
After early breakfast in the Camp we will drive to the shoulders of Mt. Kenya, arriving at the Comfort Garden Hotel near the gate for lunch. After lunch you will start your afternoon game drive and later in the evening return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. You will then spend the next day in the park taking shots and filming animals at very close range.
After breakfast you will start your journey back to Nairobi for overnight or proceed to the airport for your flight back
